Top Gun 3’s producer, Christopher McQuarrie, has dished an exciting update for fans.
While chatting with Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Hollywood producer candidly discussed a plot of his movie.
Referring to the plot of the movie, he said, “It’s already in the bag. Yeah, I already know what it is. It wasn’t hard. I thought it would be, and that’s a good place to go from is you walk into the room going, ‘Come on, what are we going to do?'”
“Ehren Kruger (co-writer) pitched something and I went, ‘Mhm actually,’ and we had one conversation about it and the framework is there. So, no, it’s not hard to crack. The truth of the matter is, none of these are hard to crack,” the Mission Impossible producer continued.
The action adventure movie revolves around a young naval aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who is known for his flying skills and distinctive personality.
Sharing what fans can expect from the movie, he noted, “It’s as you start to execute it, and as you start to interrogate it, as you start [to think] why these movies are made the way they are.”
“It’s not the action, it’s not even the level of or intensity of or the scope and scale of the action [or] the engineering around the action, it’s none of those things — it’s the emotion,” Christopher McQuarrie added before quitting chat.
In the movie, Tom Cruise, Glen Powell, Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly are confirmed to reprise their roles.
Top Gun 3 is expected to be released in cinemas in 2026.
