PM Vows to Strengthen Ties with Iran Amid Challenging Global Politics

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that his government is committed to further deepening strategic cooperation with Iran in the complex geo-political times.

He expressed these views while paying a courtesy call on the Supreme Leader of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran today.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was joined by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, and Federal Ministers Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Attaullah Tarar during his meeting with the Iranian Supreme Leader.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his deep respect for the Iranian Supreme Leader, calling him a great and respected figure in the Muslim world. He said the Muslim Ummah looks to him for guidance and support.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan always hopes for peace in the region, which can lead to progress and development. He also informed the Iranian Supreme Leader about the recent tensions with India, criticizing India’s aggressive and controlling behavior. He thanked the Iranian leadership for standing with Pakistan during this difficult time.

Shehbaz Sharif shared the efforts being made to strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and Iran. He also praised the wisdom of the Iranian leadership in dealing with nuclear talks with the United States and said he hopes a positive deal could bring peace to the region.

The Iranian Supreme Leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. He appreciated his commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries and prayed for Pakistan’s progress and well-being.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Iranian Supreme Leader for his love for the poetry of Allama Iqbal and requested him to visit Pakistan again soon.
