One of the oldest royals represents King Charles at VE Day Concert

King Charles was represented by Duke of Kent at VE Day Concert on Wednesday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The 89-year-old Duke of Kent, Prince Edward, is the first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

At 92 years old Katharine, Duchess of Kent, his wife, is the current oldest living member of the British royal family.

According to the statement, the Parliament Choir performed the concert held at the Westminster Hall.

It said, “The 100-strong Parliament choir, supported by Sinfonia Smith Square Orchestra, performed classical music from countries around Europe to celebrate 80 years of peace.”

The Duke of Kent recently attended a ceremony held at the Windsor Castle, where the royal was joined by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields.

When the palace shared his pictures from the event, royal family supporters  showered praises on the 89-year old for his dedication to royal duties.

“The Duke of Kent is the epitome of duty and loyalty,” commented a fan.

Another said, “HRH The Duke of Kent is a true stalwart of the royal family.”
