Meghan Markle issued a threat about an £8m lawsuit after her fan suffers gets burned
Meghan Markle issued a threat about an £8m lawsuit after her fan suffers gets burned

Meghan Markle has been threatened with a potential lawsuit that would be for almost £8 million from one of her fans who ended up being burned.

The “catastrophic burn” the fan sustained is from following one of Meghan’s recipes on her With Love, Meghan Netflix show.

The recipe called for Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil and lavender oil to create a homemade bath salt.

The fan is named Robin Patrick, and she is a diabetic who noted “persistent burning, discomfort, and the emergence of new blister-like sores and ulcers daily,” to RadarOnline.

In light of that, she is looking for ‘substantial damages’ from Meghan, Duchess, Netflix and Archewell Productions.

She also said that she is “deeply concerned about the risk of infection, sepsis, or other complications,” and “the pain feels as though it is burning from within.”

At one point she also recounted the moment things took a turn for the worst and said, “Initially, I experienced a mild tingling sensation without discomfort.”

“However, as the water level rose to cover my legs and reached my buttocks, I began to feel burning and significant discomfort in those areas.”

She got out immediately at that point and stirred the water inside with her hand, which started burning again.

“That evening, while showering, I experienced intense burning as water contacted the affected areas, which had developed into ulcers,” but before signing off she did reveal that she’d be willing to settle “without litigation” for a financial agreement.

According to GB News Meghan’s lawyer Cameron Stracher already penned a letter in response that says “the use of Epsom salts is contraindicated for individuals with diabetes except on the advice of a physician.”

And argued that “it was not foreseeable that you would disregard the instructions on the Epsom salt packaging in attempting to make and use your own bath salts. For this separate reason, there can be no negligence claim against anyone involved in the production or distribution of the series.”

It is pertinent to mention that her demand for financial compensation sits at £60,000 “minimum” for medical expenses and £8million in punitive damages “deter similar conduct in the future.”
