Pakistan will give swift and decisive response if India breaks ceasefire: DGISPR
Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, has said that India is supporting terrorism in the region, particularly against Pakistan.
In an exclusive interview with Russian broadcaster “RT Arabic,” Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif spoke in detail about Pakistan’s stance on Pakistan-India relations, regional security, and terrorism.
He stated that to understand the tension between Pakistan and India, it is important to consider the historical and security context. The army spokesperson accused India of backing terrorism in the region and claimed that India is the main sponsor behind ongoing terrorist activities in Pakistan.
DG ISPR pointed out that after the Pahalgam incident, Indian media and social media platforms immediately blamed Pakistan without any evidence. However, two days later, India’s Ministry of External Affairs admitted that investigations were still ongoing, calling the earlier accusations irresponsible.
He said Pakistan clearly stated that if India has any evidence, it should be presented to a neutral international body, and Pakistan would fully cooperate. However, India rejected this offer and instead opted for unilateral military actions.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif revealed that on the night of May 6 and 7, India launched missile attacks on Pakistan. In response, Pakistan acted responsibly and effectively, with the Pakistan Air Force shooting down five Indian aircraft.
He added that further missile attacks were carried out by India on the night of May 9 and 10. In response, on the morning of May 10, Pakistan targeted only Indian military installations with great care and professionalism, ensuring no civilian targets were harmed.
The army spokesperson said Pakistan’s response was appropriate, fair, and balanced, sending a clear message to the enemy.
According to DG ISPR, Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts proved to be very effective. The diplomatic corps engaged the international community with great skill and highlighted Pakistan’s peaceful approach.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif emphasized that Pakistan is not a war-loving nation but a serious, peace-seeking country, with peace always being its top priority.
He stated that major powers, including the United States, understand the spirit and resolve of the Pakistani people.
He further said that the Pakistan Armed Forces have fulfilled their constitutional and national responsibilities and will continue to protect the country’s sovereignty and borders at all costs.
The DG ISPR stressed that the Pakistani nation and its armed forces are united like a solid wall.
